Trinity Talks Podcast: Stewardship

Do you ever wonder what the difference is between Trinity’s mission fund and capital campaign fund? Are you curious about where the money goes that you give to the church? Perhaps you’d like to learn more about giving money or your time to the church without feeling pressured to commit? This week, Pastor Matt, council president Shannon Parvey and council vice-president Drew Trafton had a conversation on stewardship ahead of the culmination of our Dare to be Generous campaign! Hit play to hear about those topics and much more!

For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. Indeed, rarely will anyone die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person someone might actually dare to die.  But God proves God’s love for us in that while we still were sinners Christ died for us.    –Romans 5:6-8

For whom would you dare to risk it all? As Paul writes, maybe we as human beings would consider giving our lives for the sake of someone we consider to be good. But God dared, continues to dare, and will continue to dare to risk everything–for you–because of God’s love. That is God’s promise for you. And, God will dare to fulfill this promise for you—even when you are not being a good person. Even, in fact, when you are at your worst.

That is the Daring Generosity of God.

This month at Trinity Lutheran Church, we will be exploring the Daring Generosity of God, and considering how we might respond with Daring Generosity of our own. How will you “Dare to be Generous” in your life and at Trinity Lutheran Church?

In response to God’s Daring Generosity in your life, I dare you to increase your financial giving to the mission plan of Trinity for 2026 by 20%. I dare you!

If you’re feeling particularly bold, I challenge you to join me taking the “Double Dare” by doubling your giving to Trinity’s Mission Plan for 2026. I feel so confident in the future God has in store for Trinity that I can’t wait to see who else will join me in this investment. Will it be you? I “Double Dare” you!

Please take time to prayerfully complete this commitment form to help us plan and prepare for the coming year. Dare to be Generous, knowing that it is because of God’s Daring Generosity, that we are able to Be a Light together.

With gratitude for God’s Daring Generosity,
Pastor Matt Peterson
