“Let your light shine!” is an opportunity for us to explore our shared commitment to being a light in Downtown Moorhead and beyond. Our response to this call: “to shine brightly in all aspects of our lives”, includes our financial stewardship, building God’s Kingdom here on earth, as it is in heaven.
Please reflect on the information below and prayerfully consider how you can grow in your generosity to support our Mission Plan for the coming year. Then click on the “2024 Commitment Card” button to pledge your support.
Please also note, as an incentive to grow in giving, the Trinity Foundation will contribute $100 for each and every card we receive that indicates generosity over and above what you gave in 2023. This is a further opportunity to support our Mission Plan for 2024.
Last year we took a bold step and increased our annual Mission Plan (budget) by 10% to fund three important initiatives:
This was an especially bold step considering our simultaneous capital campaign efforts, but we did indeed step up and are very grateful to have seen a solid increase. Giving has been up every month this year over the same month last year! However, with three months to go before year’s end (despite being under budget), we are falling short of our goal and will probably end this year with a deficit. This means we will have to increase income in 2024 or reduce expenses.
Knowing that our young people face challenges these days that are unknown to many of us, and that a circle of support that can only be offered by a faith community is critical, we need to fully fund this ministry and will continue to make it a focus for our growth in 2024. We also need to care for the investment we are making in our facility. These are things we can only do together! To meet this and our other ministry initiatives for 2024 we anticipate needing an additional $2,000 a week to fully fund our ministry. This is a very attainable goal if each of our households will consider even a modest increase in generosity.
“Even though Trinity is such a big church it has been so welcoming – I feel like people really care about me.”
It is always exciting to visit with people who are considering membership in our congregation, especially when you hear their stories about what has drawn them into our community and why they want to take this next step. In many ways, we longer-term members take for granted much of the ministry we undertake, but new members continue to remind us of why Trinity is important and how we make a difference in our community. Though we continue to regularly welcome new members, we also say farewell to others. Some, who move to be nearer their children, others who move into care, and still others who enter into God’s presence forever. Many of these members are active and generous givers . Yes, we anticipate that our congregation will grow as we make investments in our youth and our facility, but we also need to grow in our generosity to make up for the transitions of these generous members. To meet this and our other ministry initiatives for 2024, we anticipate needing an additional $2,000 a week to fully fund our ministry. This is a very attainable goal if each of our households will consider even a modest increase in generosity.
Vibrant worship. Meaningful youth and children’s ministry. Deep relationships that provide care during life’s triumphs and struggles. These are just a few of the reasons people give as to why the ministry at Trinity is such a central part of their lives. For the most part, this is due to our staff. So much happens at Trinity because of them, and we need to care for their well being too. As we are all well aware, the cost of living has increased significantly over these last few years for them, as it has for the rest of us. We need to be fair to our staff and keep their salaries on pace with inflation. Additionally, as a congregation we face increased utility bills, increasing health insurance costs, and so much more. Trinity is a congregation actively engaged in downtown Moorhead and beyond, shining brightly and making a difference in the lives of people in our community and throughout the world. We wish to keep it strong and with a modest increase in generosity, we can do just that. To meet this and our other ministry initiatives for 2024, we anticipate needing an additional $2,000 a week to fully fund our ministry. This is a very attainable goal if each of our households will consider even a modest increase in generosity.
“We joined Trinity because of the preschool. It has been a great move for us and we love Wednesday nights in our family.”
