Churches United

The number of supporting faith communities has grown to over 100 these last 35 years. haiti medical mission

Our mission… Empowering our Hatian health care partners, since 1997! Haiti Medical Mission of Wisconsin (HMMW) serves the people of rural and remote southeast Haiti by improving access to health care through a partnership with Centre de Santé Sacré-Cœur de Thiotte (CSST). We facilitate relationships among organizations, individuals and institutions to provide health care and to help develop local, sustainable and largely Haitian-based care.

Our vision… Building local capacity and sustainability. In solidarity and collaboration, we build greater Haitian-based capacity for quality, dignified, and locally accessible care. In partnership, we strive toward a future of greater independence and greater sustainability for this remote and mountainous region of southeast Haiti.

Gay Church

The GALIP Foundation is an organization dedicated to bringing the reconciling message of God’s love and reconciliation to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender community. At the GALIP Foundation, we are fortunate to have a front-row seat to the marvelous work that the Holy Spirit is unfolding right in front of our eyes. This truly will be one of the great revivals in the history of the Church before it is done. Truly, this is an exciting time to be in the Lord’s service. We do this with a very small team of just two volunteers: Elaine (our founder and visionary) and Don (who handles the church directory and is our website developer). ELCA Global Mission

Rooted and built in Jesus! This is the core of our work as the ELCA walks with more than 80 companion churches in other countries to participate in God’s reconciling mission through proclamation and service. Participating in these relationships, ELCA members see how people’s lives are touched by the gospel, how their lives are transformed and renewed, and how their communities live in hope. Our living, daring confidence in God’s grace propels us, along with our companions, to say “yes” to a world searching for renewal and wholeness. As part of a global Lutheran community, we gratefully receive the witness of global brothers and sisters whose faith, hospitality, resilience and zeal energize us and our own congregations. In response, we share our gifts and talents to address the root causes of poverty and hunger and meeting human needs, fight HIV and AIDS, build communities that coexist in peace, and prepare women and men to preach the good news of Jesus Christ throughout the world.

ELCA Lutheran Disaster Response

Lutheran Disaster Response shares God’s hope, healing and renewal with people whose lives have been disrupted by disasters in the United States and around the world. When the dust settles and the headlines change, we stay to provide ongoing assistance to those in need. We are a church that is a catalyst, convener and bridge builder. Lutheran Disaster Response collaborates with other disaster response organizations and religious entities in the United States and around the world. This enables the greatest stewardship of resources and maximum impact of response. We are a welcome partner because we respect the perspectives and strengths of others. Lutheran Disaster Response strives to help the church continue to be church in the midst of disaster — following Christ’s call to share hope and healing with our neighbor in need. Habitat for humanity

We build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter. Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. Habitat works together with families, local communities, volunteers and partners from around the world so that more people are able to live in affordable and safe homes. Our advocacy efforts focus on policy reform to remove systemic barriers preventing low-income and historically underserved families from accessing adequate, affordable shelter.
