Small Group Ministry

HIGHLIGHTS

What is a Small Group?

Trinity is a church where every member is a growing disciple. Small groups foster that growth through Bible study, prayer, fellowship, mutual support and service projects. Small groups are made up of no more than 10 members that will meet about every two weeks for a year. Each group is led by a trained leader.

Small Group Mission Statement

The Mission of Trinity Lutheran Church Small Groups is to offer all people of God the opportunity to grow as disciples of Jesus. Trinity Lutheran Church Small Group members gather in the name of Jesus to listen to God, to care for one another, to serve the church and community, and to welcome the stranger.

Who Are the Group Leaders?

The group leaders have been members of small groups that have focused on leadership training. They have completed one year of small group experience where they have had opportunities to practice leader roles, lead Bible studies, carry out service projects, lead prayer, and learn about shepherding a small group.

How Can I Join a Small Group?

Small groups at Trinity launch out only once a year in January. After groups have been meeting for a year, they will disband and branch out to form new groups with new topics, and invite new members to join. You can join a small group now. For more information, call the Trinity office at 236-1333.

Trinity has many "Servant" small groups, too. Join a Servant group at any time during the year and get to know others as you work and serve together. The "On-going" small groups meet throughout the year and also welcome new members at any time.

How Can I be a Leader?

There are two ways in which you may become active in a leadership role. Both will take one year of training. Church members may choose to join a small group specifically designed to train leaders. The other option is to become an "apprentice" under the leadership and guidance of a small group leader of whichever group you join.
