Interest Groups
 
Gospel According to Harry Potter – The grown-up Gospel is tailored for adults. If you’ve read Harry Potter, or want to read, come and join. Leader: Pastor Jeremy Walloch

Reading Matthew
- Read the Gospel of Matthew asking questions like: what is the difference between the "great faith" of Jesus (and others in Matthew), and the "little faith" of the disciples? Why does Matthew describe the death of Jesus differently than Mark (the earliest Gospel)? What impact does the faith and life shown by Jesus and other "little ones" in Matthew have on our faith and life? Leader: Pastor Larry Vigen

Rise and Shine Lectionary – Meet Thursday mornings at Trinity to read, study and discuss the Biblical texts for the coming Sunday. Leader: Carol Wambheim

Christian Handbook (Catechism 201) – This small group for the ‘already confirmed’ will go back to the basics of Luther’s Small Catechism, reviewing The Lord’s Prayer, the Creed, the Ten Commandments, the Sacraments and Luther’s prayers. Leader: Pastor Paul Miller

Family Fun Activities – Working parents with young children, come and gather for family play time, conversation, learning and God’s Word. Meets third Saturdays 9:30-11:30 am. Leader: Gretchen Kinseth
 
Daytime Moms – For stay-at-home moms, meets the 2nd and 4th Friday mornings to share faith, and the joys and challenges of parenting. Childcare arranged at Trinity by the moms. Leadership shared
 
Knit-Wits 
Knit, study, and sew together; meets afternoons.

Book Club 
Women meet to read and discuss a book every month. Meets in homes.

Parents of Teens
– You know who you are; meet Sunday mornings at Trinity and find common ground with other parents.

Aces Wild – Gather around the card table as you meet others who enjoy playing pinochle. Enjoy fellowship, snacks, and praising God.

Support our Troops – Work together caring for troops overseas through prayer, cards, prayer shawls and care packages.

Books & Things That Matter – Connect through in-depth study of books and issues, and shared concerns. Meets monthly in homes.

Seeds to Sow, Garden and Grow – Gardeners, share your interest in planting and sowing seeds for meaningful relationships with God and each other. Plan and plant summer flowerbeds together. Specify ‘day’ or ‘evening’ group. Leader: Rodney Erickson

Knit Together – Come together to knit, embroider, or do other handiwork. Work on projects and study God’s Word together.

Book Discussion – Come and discuss books, starting with "Jesus for the Non-Religious," by John Shelby Spong. Meeting times determined by members. Leader: Al Traaseth

Onward Christian Soldiers
– Military veterans meet to share experiences and faith stories, carry out service projects, and study God’s Word together using "Finding God in the Shadows." Leader: Pastor Ray Branstiter

Lutheran 101 – Meet Sunday mornings; we’ll use "The Lutheran Handbook." Leaders: Trinity Pastors

Running the Race – Train for marathons together, or run for fun! The group will use the book "Running – the Sacred Art, Preparing to Practice."

Bible Studies
 
Crossroads – This Bible study for all young adults explores tough questions about faith in light of current issues. Meets 6:40 pm after Wednesday Prayer & Worship.

Adult Home Bible Study – This is a wonderful opportunity to gather for Bible study and fellowship monthly in members’ homes, these groups have a 50-year history at Trinity! Sign up separately at the info desk

Women’s Circle Bible Study – Several women’s circles meet daytime or evening each month for Bible study, for service projects, and to meet and welcome new members. Sign up separately at the info desk

Women’s Bible Study – Women meet weekly on Mondays at Trinity 1:15-2:15 pm for conversation, study and fellowship.

Men’s Bible Study – Men meet each Monday at 6:30 am at a local restaurant for a study of the lectionary texts and breakfast.

Soup and Talk – During Lent meet at noon on Fridays for lunch and to hear a speaker each week.

Lenten Small Group Studies – Meet on Sunday mornings during Lent in small groups all over the church!

Senior High Small Groups – This is a fun way to connect with peers and caring adults and have faith-centered discussion and fellowship, two Wednesdays a month.

Junior High Mentor Groups – Twice monthly on Wednesdays, 7th and 8th graders meet with mentors to engage in discussion about the Bible and faith topics, and participate in fun offsite activities.
 
 
Health, Body & Soul

Tai Chi – Learn and practice this gentle and prayerful exercise at 9 am Mondays in the CLC while moving and breathing in the scriptures.

Faithfully Fit Forever
– Join in the devotionals, fun, and fellowship of exercising together every Tuesday & Thursday at 9:30 am.
Leaders: Angie Homuth & Rita Olson

Parkinson’s & Caregivers Support – Informational programs are geared for patients, families and caregivers of those with Parkinson’s or other neurological diseases. Call Trinity for meeting schedule.
Coordinated by Judy Baumann, Trinity Parish Nurse

Cancer Support – A place for sharing experiences for those whose lives have been touched by cancer is welcoming to everyone. Meets the 1st Wednesday of the month at 7:30 pm. Call the church for information.

Bereavement Support – Notes and cards are mailed out to those who have experienced the loss of a loved one. Participate in this caring ministry from your own home and on your own time. Coordinated by Parish Nurses.

Parish Nurse Connect – Parish Nurses meet monthly to explore faith and health issues. Leadership shared.


Servant Small Groups

 
Prayer Shawl Ministry – Gather with others in daytime or evening group or work at home to knit/crochet special shawls that are blessed with prayer and given to people in need of comfort. Leader: Marlane Sanderson

Cost & Joy of Discipleship – Be an active disciple for Christ; take on projects to benefit those less fortunate, deliver cribs and other necessities, hold a Christmas party for families in need. Families are encouraged to join. Leader: Clark Tufte

Churches United for the Homeless – Prepare and serve a meal together for adults and children, offering prayers for those who are fed. Many hands make light work while having fun and fellowship together! Once you try it, you’ll be back! Meet every 3rd Tuesday, 3-7 pm.

Prayer Chain – Provide prayer support for people in times of need. Referrals are held in confidence. Your choice of daytime or evening groups is available.

Helping Hands – Rev up your power tools! Work on special maintenance projects as needed for the church, Camp Emmaus and the community.

Messenger Mailing Crew – Meet the last Wednesday of the month, 9:30-11:30 am for fellowship, and help assemble the Trinity newsletter.

Funeral Serving Groups – Serve with others for funeral meals, or furnish cakes. Serving groups are assigned eight weeks out of the year.

Bulletin Crew – Help assemble bulletins with others on Fridays, 12:30-2 pm, every other month.

Mission Workshop – This dedicated group meets the first Wednesdays, 9 am-3 pm, to make quilts for Lutheran World Relief, and enjoy lunch and fellowship together.

Reception Servers – This small group helps plan and serve receptions as needed.

Kitchen Linens – Launder kitchen linens and return them to the church.

Meals on Wheels – Deliver meals on Tuesdays or Thursdays from 10:45-12:30 pm, and make connections with those who are home-bound and eagerly awaiting not only a meal but a friendly conversation.

Hospitality – Sign up as a "regular" for serving Sunday morning coffee fellowship. Once you serve in the kitchen, you’ll really feel at home at Trinity!

Archives & History – Open to people interested in preserving Trinity history, the committee operates in an advisory capacity to oversee the archives.

Altar Guild – Every week this group prepares the altar and chancel for communion, prepares the elements and candles, cares for the linens and cloths, and sets the table with reverence. This is an important "behind the scenes" service, open to men and women, and families.

Ushers – Being the first to greet and welcome worshippers to each service is a key role for Trinity’s hospitality. Join this dedicated group and help with seating, offerings, bulletins, and generally assisting worshippers.

Communion Deacons – Assist with communion by "serving the meal" according to a rotating schedule.

Decorate the House – Bring your creative talents to church! Each season plan and oversee meaningful decorating for the sanctuary.

Advent Funshop – Meet throughout the year to plan crafts for the Advent Fun Shop event in December.

Dorothy Day House and Food Pantry – Each Thursday, help provide a meal for the residents, or on the 3rd Wednesday of the month gather to help unload the daily bread truck at the Food Pantry.

Haiti Medical Mission Trip – This group collects medical equipment, and travels to Haiti to provide medical care for those in need.

Haiti Mission Team – "Partners with HIM" – Plan for and travel to Haiti to help on non-medical projects, like building a basketball court for a local school in Pignon.

Servant/Mission Team – work both locally and in other areas of the country cleaning up, and rebuilding areas that have been hit by natural disasters.

Habitat for Humanity – Join this group that meets to plan and support Habitat houses built by Trinity and others for the Fargo-Moorhead community.
